National Disaster Management Authority - Guidelines  on School Safety Policy ,Rc.217,Dt.20/6/18

The  national  Disaster Management Authority  (NOMA) formulated the National Disaster Management Guidelines  on School Safety  Policy  in  2016 with  a  vision  of safety of school children. This is a mandatory statutory requirement  to be implemented in each of the schools  in the  country.   The  guidelines   clearly  spell   out  the  roles  and    responsibilities   of  different stakeholders  for   preparing   plans,   developing   capacity  incorporating  risk  reduction  in  the syllabus,  and improving coordination and synergy at all  levels.

Under these circumstances,  it is directed that all  the District  Educational Officers in the state shall  be declared to be  "Nodal  Officers" for their  respective districts,  with responsibility, liability   and obligation   as well  as powers and  functions   to ensure  strict  compliance with  the National Disaster Management Guidelines  [School Safety Policy],  2016 within the jurisdiction  of District  Educational Officer.

In  this   regard,    State   has  to   submit    the   quarterly   reports  consolidating  reports from  the  districts.    Hence,   all    the  District  Educational   Officers  are  requested  to  furnish the  details   in  the  annexed  format  on  or  before  23-06-201 S(Saturday)   with   the  available information   without   fail   so  as  to  enable   this  office  to  submit  the  same  to  the  Govt.  of India.
